Elemental Damage

Elemental Damage is the form of damage dealt by most Abilities and also encompasses damage from the three elements:  Fire Damage,  Ice Damage, and  Light Damage. Elemental Damage is the preferred form of damage for the Mage, Priest, and Warlock.

Elemental Damage caused by Abilities benefits from  Spell Vamp. Elemental Damage is countered by  Resistance, which in turn is countered by Resistance Penetration.
